There is a new bus service linking Burnham to Wells via Wedmore, where it changes from one company to another.  I assume it is still the 67 but there is no timetable available.
Many thanks to Anthony Lamb for the update.

These beautiful cast iron fingerposts are valuable assets to our villages in Somerset, to our heritage, and enjoyed by parishioners and visitors alike. There is always a risk that their removal could occur if neglect continues.

Have just heard that the post by Sexey's School was re-erected yesterday, which now gives us three posts done. We have tentative promises on two more posts, which would leave us with ten more to do !!

Wedmore Theatre

presents

Moscow Drug Club

at

Wedmore Village Hall

Friday 20th October

By popular demand Wedmore Theatre has invited Moscow Drug Club back to blow moody musical mist down the dark alleys of our imaginations.

If you are still uninitiated, welcome to the hippest joint in town, a curious musical place where certain elements of 1930’s Berlin Cabaret, Hot Club de France, Nuevo Tango and Gypsy Campfire meet.  Have a few drinks and stagger arm in arm into the darkness of some eastern European cobbled street, on a mission to find the bar where Django Reinhardt and Tom Waits are having an after hours jam with the local Tziganes.  Combining their original material with songs by the likes of Jaques Brel, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Bertolt Brecht, Moscow Drug Club provide an intoxicating and intimate musical experience.

Tickets at £12.00 and £6.00 (U16) are now on sale from Wedmore Village Store or online by clicking here:

Victoria and Scarlet

Victoria & Scarlet offer a complete range of blinds, curtains and upholstery services for homes and business. We make to measure all styles of blinds; Roman, Roller, Vertical etc and curtains with various headings, pencil, pinch pleat etc.

We were honoured to be invited to open our brand new shop in The Borough Yard in Wedmore in the Spring of this year and be able to showcase our goods and services to the Wedmore and surrounding communities.

Message from Polly Costello ...

Myself and other members of the Parish Council and residents have formed a committee to look into creating a community park near the centre of Wedmore.

It is planned to be located on a piece of PC owned land behind Worthington Close, by the public car park on the Cheddar Rd.

We hope to be able to create an area for the whole community to benefit from, but need in-put from our parishioners. Currently there is one play area up at the rec, but nowhere for our slightly older children to play and this will be a key factor in the project.

But we also want all ages to use it so are also proposing outdoor gym equipment, a play area for small children, wild flower areas and the list could be endless! so we need to hear your thoughts on this plan and would welcome any help.

The local schools have been asked to list their top 5 pieces of equipment and we shall have some plans to show everyone at the Wedmore Neighbourhood Plan consultation on 24th June at Wedmore Village Hall and also on site on July 8th between 10-12. Please do come and have a look and be part of shaping a great outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.

Any questions please email Polly on polly.costello@sedgemoor.gov.uk or call 01934 713564.
